Seventeen-year-old Mason Reed never believed the myths until he discovers a hidden chamber buried deep beneath the mountain. Inside, he finds a man trapped within an ancient crystal prison.

A mysterious book known as The Last Horizon has appeared upon the Library's highest shelf. Its pages are blank, waiting for a story that has never been written. According to the Storykeeper, it is the final journey every Guardian must one day face.

When impossible storms begin tearing through reality and entire universes disappear beyond the edge of existence, Mason discovers that the greatest threat has never been the Void, the Final Author, or even the Empty One.
