Chapter 1

Traced Cracks And Unspoken Shadows

A cold steel kiss, a whispered threat,

The world sinks in, I can't forget.

The closet door, a heavy click,

Another nightmare, cold and quick.

Mother's gone, a fading trace,

Leaving me in this empty space.

Strangers' faces, hollow eyes,

Beneath the manufactured skies.

Skin remembers, sharp and red,

A silent scream inside my head.

A broken mirror, a whispered plea,

Just want this hurting to leave me be.

Darkness calls, a tempting hand,

To leave this broken, barren land.

A final breath, a silent tear,

Almost gone, almost not here.

But something flickers, deep inside,

A tiny ember, refusing to hide.

A fragile hope, a whispered maybe,

To find a strength I can't see lately.

The small room echoes, but not as loud,

Maybe, somehow, I'll rise above the crowd.

Maybe, someday, the sun will shine.
