Chapter 2

Silence At The Door

The cold steel kissed my skull, a raindrop sharp,

Then lightning flashed behind me, left me stark.

His voice, a landslide rumbling in my ear,

"Get in," he growled, and choked back all my fear.

He shoved me in, a closet small and deep,

Where musty coats held secrets they would keep.

The door slammed shut, a thunderclap so loud,

And silence fell, a burial shroud.

He was a hurricane, a twisted, brutal force,

That ripped my world and changed its very course.

His eyes, a wildfire burning bright and mean,

My pleas, like whispers swallowed by the scene.

Now darkness breathes, a suffocating hold,

My story trapped, a future left untold.

I'm just a shell, the storm has passed me by,

Another casualty beneath a ravaged sky.
