Brurock was fuming. He had everyone in his grasp, and they didn’t get a single one. It was confirmed that everyone had magic now, and he didn’t know how to handle it. He didn’t know what object Shardoe was after, but Druya’s priest let him know that Shardoe had it. He was overlooking the dead Rhudons that Shardoe dispatched. They lay in grass and flowers, and Brurock didn’t know what to think about the changes to his world. He was out of his depth, and he needed Druya.
Scouts came back from searching for the portal to the Signuck world, and by looking at their faces, Brurock knew it wasn’t good news. They told him the portal was turned off. Brurock then slashed his claws into the scout. He stood there yelling, and the scouts coward away. As he was stewing in his rage, rain started to fall. This made him go on a rampage. The whole planet went crazy every time it rained, and it was raining a lot. Brurock knew he needed to get out of there before he destroyed everything in sight.
It was time to confront Shardoe; he needed for Shardoe to tell him his whole plan. He made his way to the portal, and once he was through, part of his rage mellowed out. He found it strange, and his father’s words were ringing in his ears. Brurock saw that there was a machine waiting for him, and he was relieved; he did not want to make the trek on foot. He got in, and Druya’s priest was waiting for him inside.
“Sire, I’ve come to take you to Shardoe. He’ll be very happy for your allegiance,” the priest said. Brurock was curious about how the priest was acting. He decided to keep quiet until he had more information. As they were approaching, Brurock noticed that his men were working the fields. This angered him, and he wanted answers. Once they got there, Shardoe was waiting for him with Frayusha by his side. Who was smiling with an eerie smile. Brurock got out of the machine and cautiously walked towards Shardoe.
“Welcome, my friend, I have great news!” Shardoe said, coming up to Brurock and hugging him. This took Brurock by surprise; he stepped back and showed his teeth.
“What are you up to, Shardoe?” Brurock said. Shardoe started to laugh.
“I have found it, the thing I have been searching for…for centuries! It’s mine now, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it!” Shardoe said.
“What thing?” Brurock asked, and Shardoe gave an evil smile.
“Want to see it? It’ll change your life!” Shardoe said. Brurock felt uneasy; this felt like a trap. Just then, Shardoe showed the crystal to Brurock and said an incantation. Then Brurock changed.
“What will you have me do, master?” Brurock said. Shardoe jumped up with joy. He started laughing uncontrollably.
“Now bring me your army!” Shardoe said. Brurock bowed and left to go get the rest of his people. Shardoe was so pleased with himself that he danced his way back inside. Unbeknownst to him, Druya and Artitay were watching from a distance.
“I told you, we have to work together to take down Shardoe!” Artitay said. Druya didn’t like the Porpura, but he hated Shardoe, and right now he needed allies.
“Fine, I’ll get as many as I can, and you as well. We’ll fall back to the Piskal’s old village,” Druya said. Artitay agreed, and they went on their own separate ways.
