It was hard to say what woke her up, exactly. It had felt like something was touching her, but a sideways glance told her that Damon was innocent this time. He was sound asleep, hands resting on his chest. Even so, she still felt like something was leering at her from the shadows. She focused like a laser on the familiar glow of her phone to help herself forget the sensation. It was 11:45. Sophia had been active again. No gibberish this time, but the quote before the song was startlingly random:
@carlitapesci2468: 51y ago
"Shortly after meeting my magic man, I was driving my mom to the store when this song came on the radio. She quickly said, 'DON'T say this is about Mike!' We're now married with a baby on the way. Sorry, Mom."

She recognized that comment... That was the comment she had quietly endorsed when she began dating Damon, and that comment was 51 years old when she found it! Hers was the 667th like! How on Earth did Sophia learn that? Below the quoted comment there was a scripture:
Luke 8:17: For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
With increasing trepidation, she played the heretofore beloved song: "Magic Man" by Heart.
Cold late night, so long ago / When I was not so strong, you know / A pretty man came to me / Never seen eyes so blue / You know I could not run away, it seemed / We'd seen each other in a dream / Seemed like he knew me / He looked through me, yeah
"Come on home, girl," he said with a smile / "You don't have to love me yet; let's get high a while / But try to understand / Try to understand / Try, try, try to understand / I'm a magic man."
Winter nights we sang in tune / Played inside the months of moon / "Never think of never, let this spell last forever" / Well, summer lover passed to fall / Tried to realize it all / Mama says she's worried / Growing up in a hurry, yeah
"Come on home, girl," Mama cried on the phone / "Too soon to lose my baby yet; my girl should be at home." / But try to understand / Try to understand / Try, try, try to understand, he's a magic man, Mama / Ahh, he's a magic man
"Come on home, girl," he said with a smile / I cast my spell of love on you, a woman from a child / But try to understand / Try to understand / Oh...oh... / Try~ try to understand / Try, try, try to understand, he's a magic man, oh yeah / Ooh, he's got the magic hands...
Yet again, though it was an old favorite, she could no longer enjoy it. The man whom the lyrics described now reminded her uncomfortably of the nameless lascivious presence that had woken her up. An incubus? She shuddered. The wordless female chorus during the instrumental portion, formerly a medium for her own defiant energy, now sounded more like a group of banshees, bony fingers pointed in accusation. She squeezed her eyes shut and drew the covers over her face.
