Chapter 21

Chapter 21

I just hopped a flight and got there in an hour to find that I was right… Tyler Had already found Kade and was grilling him for information on the locations of the children he had sold. Kade looked a little worse for wear and could barely speak.

I looked around and found a stash of keys in the top drawer of the desk.

“Where are they?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He laughed with a smug grin.

Crack- Tyler punched him Hard “Answer the ladies' question.” “You’ll never find them.”

Tyler kept working on him while I searched the house, I entered an office and looked around. The top compartment of the desk had a lock on it.

I tried the keys on the ring until I went through them all. Nothing.

I ran my finger under the ledge of the drawer. Got it, there was a key taped to the underside of it, I turned the lock to find a button built into the drawer bottom. I didn’t know if it was a fail safe to destroy evidence so I tried looking around a little first.

The computer was blocked with a password “Just Right” This guy was a piece of work. That was too damn easy. I got in and backed up all the files then looked in the disk

drive. Empty. That’s not right. I looked around the room and phony as it was, my eyes stopped at an oversized portrait of none other than “Goldilocks and the three bears.”

*SKIN CRAWL* ugh.

I ran my hands along the frame and a drawer popped down, another key. I pulled on the frame and it was a safe with a combination lock.

“What the h-?”

“Megan, you find anything?” “Yeah”

I handed Tyler the thumb drive. “There’s a safe behind this picture.”
