On the campaign trail, Victor Emerson Hawthorne had recently changed his tone from ‘Building Better, Being Better’ to increasing his dislike towards immigrants, fair hiring practices, and government overreach. Seeing that this ignited his base, he kept at it, hoping to drive a wedge between his base and the followers of his opponent. Building on this anger and resentment, his campaign returned to growing again.
Hawthorne’s personal friend and lawyer, Terrance Johnson, entered the room. He came to inform him of a new development. “An sudden surge of about 275 million dollars came into our Presidential campaign fund,” Terrance started.
“Victor, I do not know how to tell you this, but I think we’ve been handed a lifeline,” he continued, “If not for what I am about to reveal, we’d be having a different conversation this morning, one about having to pause or even end your campaign, due to funding issues.”
Hawthorne, having some idea of the financial state of his campaign, awaited eagerly for Terrance to continue, but interjected. “What are you talking about, Terrance? You seem excited and apprehensive at the same time. Do go on.”
“Well, overnight we received about a thousand individual donations ranging in various amounts that all in all total about 275 million dollars,” Terrance started. “Two thousand here, three thousand there, another five K - It is amazing.”
“What are you not telling me, Terrance?” Hawthorne asked. “Like I said, what is the hesitation?”
“Well,” Terrance continued, “they all seem to be from the same bank in Belarus.”
With concern in his eyes, he went on, “This seems odd to be coming from an Eastern European country, which is sometimes involved with nefarious dealings with Russia. I just wonder why these small amounts are provided to our campaign. Why not one big lump sum?”
Hawthorne surmised, “Well, it could be due to laws limiting campaign contribution amounts from individuals and corporations. I am not sure what the law is there, but remind me to repeal it when we win.”
This caused a little laughter from both men.
Hawthorne continued, “What else are you not telling me? What else do we know?”
“It seems that every one of these contributors works for the same real estate investment firm called Alliance Consortium. This firm has had some shady dealings in the past with previous administrations of our party and with Russia. I want to be cautious with how we present this to the public.”
“I will call in Leon, who might shed some light as to how these came up. He had mentioned yesterday how he had some good financial news for us.” As he was responding, Hawthorne eagerly texted Leon, his closest billionaire confidant, to come in early for their 9:00 AM meeting, which was in about an hour.
A few minutes later, Leon walked in. He already knew of the donations and from where they came. Hawthorne started the conversation. “We have some interesting news on the donation front.”
Leon interrupted. “Do not worry about a thing. I have arranged these donations and even lined them up so they will pass any prying eyes pondering the legality of such. Also, being from an Eastern European origin, this morning, I had them disguised as flowing internationally from England. There should be no issues from either side of the aisle if they are considering the legality and origin of these donations. We are in the clear and can use these funds to crush our opponents at the voting booths.”
Leon and Hawthorne looked at Terrance for confirmation, and he agreed, “That seems to match the law, and we can cover them up with a loophole or two.”
Hawthorne responded. “Then our 9:00 meeting, which is just a few minutes away, we can ignore this and move straight on to our agenda topics, correct?”
Both Terrance and Leon responded simultaneously, “Yes.”
The door opened, revealing the last parties to be involved in the 9:00 AM agenda brainstorming meeting. Stanley White, a middle-aged lawyer who had multiple DUI charges brought up against him in the past, but dropped due to some type of backdoor good ole boy shenanigans, smiled as he entered and stated with a grin, “Let’s get this disruptive agenda meeting started!”
Tommy Cummings, Victor’s long-time college friend and confidant, came in and shut the door behind him; he chimed in with his college war cry to second that.
“OK,” Hawthorne said, starting the meeting. “I wanted to begin with the idea that it would be a miraculous sign from God that our political party wins the House and Senate at the national level, along with me at the Presidency. It would be helpful if our party wins seventy-five percent of the governor’s spots at the state level. Also, in those states, if we win power at the state’s congresses, there would be no stopping our agenda. It would be full steam ahead.”
Tommy quickly added, “To think, Victor, all those late-night conversations we had throughout college; if we could just make half the changes we stewed about over the years. How awesome would that be?”
“Yes,” he replied, “that’s what I want to discuss. Let’s get started.
“Please feel free to chime in, everyone, as I might not have thought of everything about the topics discussed today.
“It is a dream of mine, well, Tommy’s also, to change the political landscape from the bottom up. I want to start with immigration. This has been a sore spot for our country for a long time, and our opponents just open the borders to anyone who is breathing, in my opinion. We need to shut that down, and here is where I want to start.
“The first stage is to aggressively seek illegal immigrants and return them to their respective countries immediately with no time for trials or appeals to the Supreme Court.”
Tommy continued. “Meanwhile, in the background under the guise of the illegal immigration process, we can deny all pending requests for political asylum and close all those requests for citizenship; basically, returning that group to their respective countries.”
“Yes,” replied Hawthorne, “and then we have each case of citizenship requests for the past eight years revisited and formulate some plan to re-open those cases and have them denied, thus sending even newly committed U.S. citizens back to their respective countries. If no country could be found for an individual, or the country denied them re-entry, those individuals would be placed somewhere, either in the U.S. or a foreign country, agreeing to house them for a cost, in some type of holding camp.”
Terrance quickly interjected. “It would be best to stay away from the term ‘camp’, as that has a bad meaning to some in history. We will call them ‘Facilities.’”
“But all of this needs to not be made public until we have reduced the workforce of the government agencies and put our loyalists in place as we discussed on the campaign trail,” interjected Leon.
He continued, “We need to do it legally so there would be no question or concern. That leads us first to the creation of the task force we called ‘Government of Involuntary Separation Enforcers - GOISE’. I can head that task force and slash the workforce by 80%, then open 30% of the positions ‘Back’, but put our people in place of rehiring the original employees.”
Terrance responded. “That’s right, we act like we messed up and we say we are sending messages out to a percentage to bring them back, but we just place our friends in, and no one will be the wiser.”
Stanley added, “We could do this down at the bottom levels and up to the director and cabinet levels.”
Terrence surmised. “Do you think we can do the same for federal judges? You know, get rid of some of the more ‘Woke’ judges and place in our loyalist lawyer friends.”
Hawthorne answered, “If we act quickly enough on the GOISE government employee firings, we can add some nonsense agenda topics, like renaming Mount Rushmore to Mount Hawthorne and placing my likeness on that monument. We bombard the media with all this mess, and they won’t be able to focus too much on any one topic. We just slip the firing of the judges in as part of GOISE and not say anything more.”
Tommy joked, “Operation Blitzkrieg!”
“In doing this, there would be no obstacles to our agenda, and we can put our loyalists in. Those who provided substantial donations to the campaign, we can put into seats of power, in judges’ seats, and in-turn, rooting out career politicians,” added Leon.
After the meeting was over, Leon praised Hawthorne, “Victor, you read the agenda items I gave you almost word for word. Good Job!”
