Linth was getting ready for the raiding party. He wanted to join Tanla and the others to see how they did things. It was tricky trying to find an excuse for him to be gone so long, but Verdom said he would distract Nartuck. They were in a hut, and Hashmire was there. He had been with the priests' order ever since Fulch was a boy, and now that he was the high priest, he couldn’t abide by what the Piskals were turning into. He was the one who started the faction against the Lord. Linth was surprised to see him there and gave a nod. He always thought that the priests shouldn’t stand by with what Nartuck was doing, and now he knew better. They were making a tincture that would be put into a gas grenade that would be thrown into the driver's compartment, so he would pass out and not remember a thing. There was another thing that they had, which looked like a giant bulb. Linth was very intrigued by this.
“It blows up,” Hashmire said. Linth looked at him while he picked it up.
“What is it?” He said. Hashmire took it from him.
“It’s a seed for their trees, the chemicals inside it, when near fire, blow up. We use it to make the caravan tip over. They are very light, you see,” Hashmire said. Linth had to admit to himself that he was a tad bit excited. They had several of the bulbs, and they gathered everything and were ready to go.
They walked into the forest, safe from the Lord’s soldiers, and headed towards the caravan. They set up the bulbs ready to hit them with a fire arrow. Tanla came up to Linth.
“It is quite the rush, but don’t worry, the driver won’t be harmed. Just stick close to me, and we’ll empty the caravan as fast as we can and give it to the people, and keep some for our reserves,” Tanla said. They sat in wait for the caravan to come.
