His search draws him east, where he crosses paths with Rhane, a disgraced Khel warrior condemned not for losing a battle, but for surviving one.

As the Dominion expands its influence, Kael and Rhane begin to uncover truths that challenge what their peoples have been taught about the past—and about one another.
