She nodded somberly. She was starting to see the structure. The first two songs were a bird's eye view of the world in which he had lived. "Six, Six, Six" had been international, "Competition" had been national, and now "Against the Wind" was personal.
As a new husband, he was to navigate difficult terrain and to do it against the wind, knowing that the world would fight him every step of the way. Jesus would be the one and only thing between him and destruction. And given the example of Calvary, destruction might even be a part of the mission. A sobering thought, that one.
And those two lines... "Accusations met, not a word You spoke / But love flowed from the heart that we broke"? How much of that had he actually lived? How many accusations had he quietly absorbed, and how often had he loved through a broken heart?
