The Nether Years

Victor Jackson just graduated from the Central Authority Academy at the bottom of his class, a fact overshadowed by his ability to graduate at all. Awash in family pride, he looks forward to a life of monotony and minimal expectations in the Capital. Unfortunately for Victor, his new life is upended immediately by a petty criminal that escapes his grasp. Upon pursuit of the mysterious woman, Victor finds himself sucked into a band of time traveling outlaws who make him question the society in which he hoped to live out his life in relative anonymity.

 When the curtain is peeled back, Victor finds himself in the center of a hidden war. Both sides seem to believe he is the key to victory, though neither will say why. As the questions pile up, Victor is on a desperate search for answers to the war and his own personal identity.
