Chapter 3

Sunday is the day of my Salvation

And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:6

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: Job 19:25

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Luke 23:41-43

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Acts 10:43

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. I Thessalonians 4:14

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. I Peter 1:21

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:29-38

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:16-17

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6:2

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8--9

___________

Too many times I've met a fellow man who said that they were of a particular movement, sect, denomination and the like. It's your name is the book of life. I'd say, it's better to confess Jesus.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:11

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Exodus 32:32-33

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12

I'm deaf. When i was seven, Mom was hosting a 2 week vacation bible school in our home. I didn't behave in the neighborhood, at church, at school or at home. Mom prayed. In Sunday school, I didn't understand anything other than the name of Jesus. It was the only word I could hear. It was dark, I called on the name I had just learned. I was then clean and happy. Tomorrow at the vacation bible school, I behaved. The neighborhood chums also believed, As they did in church in Sunday school and in church.
