Chapter 2

When my Body started Whispering

Looking back now, I can see the signs clearly.

At the time, I couldn't.

Life was moving fast, and I was busy trying to keep up with it.

Between work, family responsibilities, and everyday obligations, I

barely had time to slow down. Like many women, I was used to pushing

through exhaustion. I had learned to put everyone else's needs ahead of my own.

So when I started feeling unusually tired, I ignored it.

Not the kind of tired that comes after a long day.

This was different.

It was the kind of exhaustion that settled deep into my bones.

The kind that sleep couldn't fix.

I would wake up in the morning feeling just as tired as I had been the

night before. Some days, simply getting out of bed felt like a challenge.

Still, I told myself it was stress.

I told myself I was working too hard.

I told myself I just needed a vacation.

The truth was easier to avoid than to face.

As the weeks passed, other symptoms began appearing.

The sleepless nights came first.

I would lie awake staring at the ceiling long after everyone else had

fallen asleep. My mind raced while my body felt heavy. Some nights I

couldn't fall asleep at all. Other nights I woke up repeatedly, unable to return to sleep.

Morning brought no relief.

Only more exhaustion.

Then came the aches.

The strange sensations.

The discomfort I couldn't explain.

Nothing dramatic.

Nothing that screamed emergency.

Just enough to make me wonder whether something was wrong.

I remember standing in my kitchen one morning, holding a cup of coffee and staring out the window.

The sun was shining.

Birds were singing.

Life around me seemed completely normal.

Yet something inside me felt different.

For the first time, I allowed myself to wonder if my body was trying to tell me something.

That thought scared me.

Because once you admit something might be wrong, you can't pretend anymore.

You begin noticing things you previously ignored.

You start paying attention.

You start keeping mental notes.

You start wondering.

And wondering can become its own kind of burden.

I began watching my body closely.

Every ache.

Every headache.

Every sleepless night.

Every moment of fatigue.

Questions began filling my mind.

Why am I so tired?

Why don't I feel like myself anymore?

What is happening to me?

No matter how hard I tried, the answers never came.

Only more questions.

The uncertainty was almost worse than the symptoms themselves.

At least pain has a location.

At least fatigue has a name.

But uncertainty lives everywhere.

It follows you to work.

It sits beside you during dinner.

9It keeps you awake at night.

It whispers fears you don't want to hear.

I tried to remain positive.

I continued showing up for work.

I continued caring for my family.

I continued pretending everything was okay.

But deep down, I knew something had changed.

There were days when I felt disconnected from the woman I had always been.

Days when my body felt unfamiliar.

Days when fear quietly crept into my thoughts.

I wasn't ready to admit it.

But my body had already begun speaking.

The whispers were getting louder.

Soon, they would become impossible to ignore.

And the answers I had been searching for would finally arrive.

I just wasn't prepared for what those answers would be.

The life I knew was about to change forever.
