I really enjoyed reading this book. The main character is easy to identify with. Early on in the novel I was really enjoying reading about her hiking El Camino de Santiago. And wanted to read less about the memories she was having while on the trail. But as the story progressed, I realized I had become equally engaged with her past story as I was with her present day hiking story. This is an emotional novel. I found it very easy to become entangled in the main characters story. To feel her emotions. To experience her struggles and her pain right alongside of her as I progressed through the novel. I really like this quote from the write up on the main page: "This is a story intended for all the women who would choose the bear. Audrey is a solo pilgrim, and sometimes pilgrimages begin long before ever setting foot on the trail."
