Love’s Embrace

As a Tear

You have come quietly

to a heart that needs mightily

that which you bring

An offer of kindness

someone to find, yes

to share, and sing

And here you are, confessing

more from your heart

you speak, mine sings

As a tear comes in eye

accepting, but fear to try

as belief begins to thrive

Where an “us” may live

with love to give

sharing

Heart Available

Found in a moment which was distressed

from on old man’s life which was a mess

she could see extracted a heart

ready for more than failed love

one quite ready after tried enough

her efforts to change in mind and heart

to be a bit of trust, make it a part

of his mindset

A mindset that had blocked her way

to his heart, and come what may

where he could finally hint if not say

the words she longed to hear

and which, once said, would cause shed tear

from each as finally released was fear

that, mislead, all would come to naught

as loves before were endless fraught

And here he was, upon the verge

yet holding back his reluctant urge

to tell her how he really feels

to tell her just how much he reels

when her words come through

with feeling true,

and accepted now as living fruit

of conversation at its root

Love

to be spoken from her first

a welcome sound when finding birth

from her lips to his ear

understood and bringing cheer

where empty spaces sat for years

and now, he to speak his mind in hint

then love, become word well sent

As his old heart on the road again

having broken through to final win

where he could say his mind as she

telling of available heart, now free

to tell in words, needing heard

by her who reached when seemed absurd

to one far off, yet emotionally near

who once lost, and beset with fear

Discovered in her mind and eyes

a truth that he longed to apply

a shared love, him not know why

but pleased she came and love apply

though there many reason not, risk cry

if all her efforts to bring his love

to this moment

and he express his love

Strongly Embrace

In her heart and in her mind

something ever she longed to find

A man who had done away with hate

who emotionally was no ingrate

One who has stood the test of time

could even bring a poem to rhyme

A man who could see her as real

not just someone up to feel

See her beyond her form and face

who would gladly give a strong embrace

Not to leave in angry spate

stay instead in warm embrace

Melody of this Heart

Slow but sure a tune to form

a quiet affection is with it borne

throughout the day, from early more

as grows affection now freshly born

into the world

Not having expected this refreshing light

which could not answer yet into the night

yet could touch a soul like candle-light

and brighten a world from extended plight

darkness of disavowed love

Looking forward to chat each day

seeking ever new wording’s play

to suggest what came from heart for say

expressing growing love new ways

trying ever to make it real

And her, to respond, a joyful feel

in kind with words of great appeal

to tell a mending heart what’s real

between her and he, fill hope’s creel

where love is captured

And a tune is formed

in unexpected moment born

to have it carried in hummed form

a melody of this heart is borne

into a day, its early morn

Heart Alive

Here inside, is a heart alive

hoping ever to grow and thrive

within the rays of your love’s grace

as if a place out in the Sun

where life and fun

out-play

And you are here to shine out fear

dry the dampness of errant tears

hold the hand of a lonely man

your love a heart-bound spear

lancing heart and soul in kind

easing troubles of the mind

And this heart alive needs no bribe

to take up with yours, happy, alive

as you are the one to warm the night

cast out dark and bring on light

within a dreary life so lead

and now a different story read

His Face

There at the edge a curious face

somehow, I like it, smile in place

This a man I could embrace

though I know him not a trace

To him I reach to find a place

a shadow shared with him to grace

All future moments as made a trace

affections shared, a happy place

And though it’s been the shortest time

his the heart I want for mine

He speaks to me with finest words

none are harsh, none absurd

As calmly he responds to questions asked

not speaking loud nor speaking fast

As what is said to please my heart

and I’m wishing now we weren’t apart

His face, his smile, his chatting style

fill my heart, bring me to smile

Still

He has not said it yet

although I have said I do

I am waiting long

to see if he comes through

He told me I was early

speaking out of time

not that what I say was hurtful

or even out of line

Only that I was early

and things not that well aligned

yet my heart brought me to say it

I love him, so I find

Still I wait for him

to come round heart and mind

long the time it has been

but wait, I am inclined

His mind is changing

I see our lives align

within our conversations

as happiness more to find

He seems quite the special man

or so it is I find

I wonder when he will respond

saying “I Love you” from heart and mind

She Speaks to Me

Words are said of pleasant things

that once were happenings in life

things more common spoken

between a husband and a wife

She speaks to me of life to be

if, and when we meet

things that moved my heart

near swept me of my feet

Telling of the troubles once seen

sometime of joyful things

that had come into her life

and I to see her life wasn’t all that nice

And over time, I’m finding close align

as empathize I do in time

as she speaks of loss and success

I’m liking her more as time we find

My heart asks that I speak up

not keeping feelings inside

as my heart it wakes up

and I am loving her inclined

Soon the words will come out

more likely as a grand shout

telling her I love her too

with all my emotions pouring out

As if the dam had burst-ed

security no longer trusted

the bars that kept me quiet

Me saying

Her, the one for whom I’ve lusted

Heart and Soul

To touch his heart and soul

was this woman’s reached for goal

to find within a friend

to bring him out again

so he can see her world

the dreams she wants to feel

a loving man for real

to bring about joy for both

that doesn’t ask to kneel

one to the other, a sharing real

as he, finding hope again

sees the world a-spin

with her, the center where it begins

and them to grow, alive

together to thrive

and make together a world

their own

Here you are

I can’t believe this, here you are

the woman I dreamed of, as if a star

the one for whom I’ve longed so far

pinned my hopes on, and there you are

Standing before me, shining

glowing, you are my love’s defining

hearts and souls are still aligning

much of my life needs more refining

And it is to you my dreams are pinned

you’re the one who brings my heart to grin

you’re the one with whom I’d sin

given the chance again and again

Smoothly

Smoothly, or so was thought

a coming together that was trouble wrought

First there was doubt

then there was worry

One being resistive

the other in a hurry

To find a mate, a worthy man

and he less willing, a wife in hand

And so their stress within the reach

not all went well within the breach

Longed for, surprise, by each

a smooth life, with love for each

Where each to have their dream be true

and end their life of being blue

Yet closer become heart anew

hoping for a love so true

Hard to Find

Alignment, Hearts and Minds

something often hard to find

something each can share in kind

that spans the differences,

as common mind

As ways mesh and realign

to bring together future find

goals planned, means found

which are effective, even sound

to bring ways align

Where the goals of each

hold place to teach

the other new ways

interactions in the plays

jointly dreamed

As the hard, overcome, is found

alignment sound

which quells disturbances found

to pave a way for future days

together, our hearts and minds

Closer, and closer, we to find

that “US” is well aligned

hearts singing the same tune

as coming together we are soon

for love’s sake full aligned
