A loud thud followed as the person looking at me lay his head back down before I could process it.
"My apologies", The red haired man said, "I've put him back to sleep now, we better go back outside".
He covered my eyes once more, that feeling of erasing and existing hitting me again before he finally removed his hands from my eyes.
He looked down at his shirt, "It is better you simply go home, Mortal. I'll deal with my clothing myself".
"Seriously?", I asked, "You won't get questioned?".
"I know how to handle it, Master Uel isn't the type to ask too many questions", He grabbed the food basket on the bench, I had already forgotten about it.
He raised it, "I'll be taking this with me, the guard would like it".
I smiled, nodding.
He walked back towards the sea, where he had emerged from in the first place as he undid his top button.
"Thursday, Mortal. Come then and I'll tell you what Master Uel has to say about your curse", He sat on the water and it welcomed him with open arms.
Engulfing him till I could not see him anymore.
I fell on the bench once he disappeared, laughing as I took heavy breaths, "What's wrong with me?", I thought out loud, still laughing.
I looked towards the water, stretching my body, "I've never felt this energetic, maybe I just needed a life threatening situation".
I stood up, looking at my wet clothes, they weren't half as bad as before because it was nylon material, but it was still enough for Aaron to ask questions.
"The food", I thought, getting closer to the house, "I shouldn't have cooked up that 'Just keeping it for later' lie".
The house's back door came into my view as I prepared myself before pushing it open, the best scenario now for me would be one where Aaron had gone back to sleep.
"So you need an entire hour to eat breakfast?", A voice said once I took the first step into the living room. He was dressed up, probably heading to the university.
"Sorry", I said, fully stepping in, "A lot happened while I was there, and I couldn't come back early".
He turned to me, putting on a watch, before his movements came to a stop and he suddenly came closer.
He looked down at my shirt, "Why is your shirt wet? Were you messing around with someone and fell into the water?"
I stepped back, "Messing around? Sir, I could never, I don't even know anyone in this town". I lay my head low, "But I have to admit , I carelessly fell into the water".
He grabbed a monocle from the table beside him, "And what careless action was it that you took?"
Fake muffles escaped me, like that of someone who had cried for too long, "I foolishly assorted the food by the river to see what the view from afar would be like. I then hit a rock and stumbled forward into the water, managing to push the food forward too".
I took a deep breath, pretending to hold in a sob, "All the leftovers..."
"It's alright", He snapped his fingers, stopping my fake sobs "Did you at least get to eat?"
I nodded, watching him walking towards the exit, the monocle now on his left eye.
"Will you be coming to the university?", He asked, "After you're done with what Bri needs you here for of course".
"Do I have a choice?, I mean, I'll try my best".
He opened the door, closing it shut once he had stepped through it, his weird pastry-like scent the only thing he left behind.
I looked around, the house wasn't too huge, "Cleaning might be slightly easy", I thought, walking towards the pantry.
"Genessa".
I turned around, wondering if I had heard wrong, a voice had just called my name.
"Look upstairs".
"I definitely heard something", I said to myself, turning towards the stairs.
I saw Briel's room, slightly open and her head was peeking out a bit, she looked incredibly happy like someone who had taken something.
"Come", She signaled, giggling. I was slightly worried.
I walked towards her room, standing by the side, "Good morning Mrs Briel".
She smiled, "Morning love. You look so cute, did I ever tell you?"
"Mrs Briel, are you okay?"
She laughed, "I must look mad right now. I didn't take any thing if that's what it seems like, I just keep remembering something that's making me laugh".
I stepped closer, getting a closer look of her, "A fond memory?"
She nodded, chuckling, "Something like that. It's Aaron, he came to me and told me you prepared food for the both of us".
She laughed in between her words, "Then he said he'll eat both his and mine because he woke up early to make me breakfast in bed and discovered you already made food for me".
I watched as she giggled continuously and I could no longer blame her, I myself was stunned, "Mr Aaron said this?, Did he later make breakfast for you?"
She nodded, "Yes, he did. He's the cutest man alive, don't you think so too my love?"
"I don't think I have a say in that, Mrs Briel".
"Ignore me", She said, opening the door. "What about you, what were you up to?"
I pointed to the pantry, "Cleaning, I was just about to get the things I need. Just to be sure, cleaning means sweeping, mopping and dusting, right?"
She held her stomach, nodding "I would have helped but I can't even do anything now. There's butterflies in my stomach and I don't want it to end, have you ever felt like this before, Genessa?"
I smiled, "I'm merely but a shipped around good, what time would I use to fall in love? I have never even spoken to a boy my age".
Briel clasped her hands together, her eyes glittering, "Well you're in luck!, you've gotten to your final consumer and she has decided you ae not a good anymore. Once you're done cleaning, we're going to the market place".
"Marketplace, Why the marketplace?"
She placed a hand on my shoulder, "Kids your age are at every spot in the market, girls shopping with their mothers, boys assisting their fathers".
A laugh almost escaped me at her words ,one I tried my best to hold in, Briel was a sweet human being but she didn't realize the fact that I just didn't want to talk to someone my age.
"Okay", I replied, "I'll clean as quick as I can".
The house was quite large and it took me about two hours to round up everything.
I stared at the picture on the wall, Briel and Aaron on their wedding day, she was dressed in a long, blue gown and Aaron was in a matching suit.
I took a deep breath, looking around the house, there wasn't a spot I had missed, hopefully at least.
Briel rushed down the stairs, two dresses in her hand, almost like she sensed the second I was done cleaning.
A knock suddenly came on the door before she could reach me as I turned towards it, looking back at Briel for a second.
"Are you expecting someone Mrs?", I asked her as she shook her head.
She walked towards the door, handing me the dresses in her hand as she opened it herself.
A man stood there, slowly stomping his legs on the floor like he was growing impatient, he was dressed in an outfit just like Aaron's.
He looked up, his eyes meeting mine, "You and your husband have wasted my time too much Mrs Briel, now I've been sent to bring the girl to him myself".
